A Mini Book Magic...

so did everyone have fun in the Scraplounge March Project Pack challenge?! Although we couldnt participate, the team here were given the same pack of goodies to play with and i decided on an accordion album for my boyfriend's 31st birthday =)

Wyn Turns 31 =)

To form the accordion, cut a piece of cardstock into two pieces of cardstock measuring 12" wide by 6" tall. Fold it into half to get a 6" x 6" and continue to fold 2" at both ends. You should get an accordion with score lines at 2", 6" and 10" (i hope this makes sense!)

Wyn Turns 31 =)

Then stick the 2" of one side to the cover board and the other 2" to the second folded accordion piece...The next 2" flap is stuck to the end board. Now to decorate your accordion!

Wyn Turns 31 =)

I used the memo card as a flap to hide the ugly photos of me with my mouth all stuffed with food...not going to show it here of course!!! I then used the lace to line the edge of the fold =)

Wyn Turns 31 =)

With the huge flower, i cut it into half and wrapped it to a 'stem' made from folded patterned paper!

Wyn Turns 31 =)

Hope you had fun with your album as i had with mine!! If you want to get a kit, it is still available on our Etsy store!!

hugs, Merdrey

When i saw the tag Hero in March's Qtea kit, i knew i had to do something for my daddy =) Grabbed this photo off the fridge, scanned it and printed a copy to scrap! This is a photo of my dad receiving a 10 yr long service award from his company. Love how the fabric and buttons add interest and the masculine touch to this soft layout =)

for the birds...

This time, I've scrapped one of a few birdhouses hanging around our garden
I've seen a few little birds stop briefly on it but not go inside..maybe they do
when I'm not looking..it's nice to think so anyway :)

From the kit, I've used: magnifying glass notepaper, wild things scalloped tag,
raffia braid, in the garden fabric, button, leaf charm and vintage dictionary paper

I've cut out the magnifying glass from the notepaper and love how realistic it is..
The refuge definition is from the dictionary paper and also gave me the idea for
a title. The raffia braid adds great texture and I've unpicked a bit at each end

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend :) Gina x

Something Fishy..

When my Where the Wild Things Are kit arrived I didn't know where to start..there
were so many earthy delights in there..but I decided to scrap a pic of my girl catching
her 'wild thing' while out fishing with her grandfather recently... I found the double
sided map paper perfect for this theme..and the fabric is so cool, that will definitely
be coming out again soon for another layout and some cards!

This is what I used from kit: map paper, vintage tea card (reverse side), in the garden
fabric, airmail envelope, nature lovers button mix and vintage book paper

I'm looking forward to playing some more with my kit tonight..so will pop
back to share that very soon :) Gx
