Creative Team Call

Well, the poll results are in! The general verdict is that a design/creative team IS a good idea for Q Tea, 2 or 3 designers, possibly monthly guest designers, showing lots of ideas for the kits with an emphasis on layouts. Phew! LOL. So this is the bit where you guys get to show me your stuff!

Invitation
I am currently inviting expressions of interest for the Q Tea creative team members. I'm not sure about the specifics at this point, numbers, duration, etc, but the invitation is open to both Australian and international scrappers.

Here's the deal:
In exchange for one monthly kit, team members or guest designers will create two items for the Q Tea gallery. Ideally a mix of both off-the-page and layouts, but with the balance leaning toward more layouts. Each project would need to use at least 2 items from the kit, with the rest of the projects using your own stash. You are also welcome to use the projects you create for Q Tea to enter other challenges or to combine with other design team commitments.

What to do:
To express interest in being part of Q Tea's creative team, please email qteakits@gmail.com with a bit of info about yourself, links to any online galleries or blogs, and an example of both a layout and an off-the-page (canvas, mini-album, altered item, etc) project. Ideally the examples would show how you like to use non-traditional products, such as those in the Q Tea kits. Please keep the file sizes small for ease of viewing.

Deadline:
6am, Australian EST, 14th January 2007

If It Ain't Baroque

There's nothing quite like quoting a Disney film when choosing kit names - yes, I spend too much time around small children, but what can you do ;) (in case you are wondering, Cogsworth says it in 'Beauty and the Beast'!) Poll Results

As a result of last week's poll on Q Tea's shipping dates, etc, the policy has now changed.

Where previously invoices were sent in the first week of the month, they will now be sent a week before the end of the previous month. Payment is due by the start of the month for that month's kit. The kits will ship from the 1st of the month onwards, depending on individual payment dates. If you have any questions, please email me to let me know.

Next weekend I will be in Sydney for the Papercrafts festival in Penrith, so any kits not posted on the 1st will be shipped the following week, from the 7th onwards (the 6th is a public holiday - Melbourne Cup Day - in the Melbourne suburbs).

This means your November kit will still come pretty quickly after October! If you're willing to share any of your projects that use elements of a Q Tea kit, please email them to me so that I can add them to the flickr gallery :)

I've had a few queries about the shipping date of the kits, which is currently the 20th of the month (with payment due at least a week earlier). I have created a poll in the sidebar (at the right, below 'ordering details') with various options - I'd love to know what you all think!

November's kit - my favourite so far - will be posted shortly. Yes, early - I am so excited about this one that I can't wait!

Postage Update

With the majority of September kits now shipped, I have discovered the kits to be lighter than I expected. While it is possible that this may vary, for the time being I have reduced the shipping cost of the kits. Kits from October onwards will reflect this updated rate, and I will be sending a gift out to each person who purchased a September kit and paid full postage, and to all subscribers who have pre-paid. The gift will reflect the amount of overpayment, but if you'd rather a refund (for example, those of you who have pre-paid 3 or 6 months), please just email me to let me know :)

International customers will receive a credit on their next invoice, and next month's kit will be weighed to determine exact shipping before invoicing.

The add-on kits were shipped at $2.50 postage so no change was needed there.

The March Hare's Garden

Though commonly referred to as 'The Mad Hatter's Tea Party', the name of the party in question was, in fact, simply 'The Mad Tea Party'. The Mad Tea Party actually took place in the garden of the March Hare, giving us the title of Q Tea's first add-on kit. You'll find elements of madness along with the sunshine and colour of a garden in Spring. Enjoy!

Please note that this kit is not included in any subscriptions, and is offered in addition to the monthly kits. Unlike the monthly kits, no add-on kits have been pre-ordered or set aside.

'The March Hare's Garden' costs $17.50 plus postage, making it a flat $20 for Australian customers. The add-on kits will ship on Tuesday the 4th September, and thereafter as ordered. Please email me if you would like to place an order!

Contents:

1 4.5"x12" piece flocked paper
1 6"x12" piece gelati floral drill cotton
1 piece vintage wallpaper
1 piece vintage book paper
2 lined cards
1 vintage 'Sorry' game card
1 piece postcode book paper
1 yard vintage lace
2 large paperclips
1 red frame label sticker
1 piece Elle's Studio bird notepaper
4 Adrienne Looman painted buttons
1 ladybug button
1 piece Cavallini vintage-style bird paper (approx 4"x5")
2 ceramic flowers

Please note: Postcode paper, bookpaper, bird paper, Adrienne Looman buttons and paperclips will vary slightly in colour or theme from those shown.

The Mad Hatter's Tea Party

Wow, what an inspiring response to Q Tea! Thank you, everyone, for your excitement and support.

As much as I'm having fun with the intrigue and mystery of it all, I have put together a quick sneak peek for Q Tea's first kit - "The Mad Hatter's Tea Party" - expected to ship on the 23rd August.

With Q Tea just in it's infancy, the kits will be limited in quantity, with only 25 kits available in each of the first two collections. Pre-orders are now being taken, and I am hoping to have the full kit image up by the 16th August. I will also post further sneak peeks as the various ingredients arrive on my doorstep!

To order, simply email Q Tea with your details and you will receive an invoice and payment details by the 9th August (or immediately, if your order is placed after this date).

And again, any questions, simply email me!
